Treatment in Place- a Hospitalization Avoided

Your resident has a fever, is complaining of abdominal pain, and there isn’t a Provider in the building…

Consider iDocsWeb Telemedicine before sending the resident to the hospital. Many conditions can be treated within the facility with access to a provider. In fact, over 80% of iDocsWeb consultations result in treatment at the patient’s bedside. Here’s an example of how it works:

iDocsWeb Telemedicine for LTC
1. Place Telemedicine Cart at Resident’s Bedside

The nurse is able to quickly select the resident within the telemedicine portal. The patient’s information including treating provider are populated from the EMR. Vitals, symptoms, and reason for call are entered and sent to the selected provider.

Telemedicine for SNF
2. The Provider Will Examine Resident With Nurse

The provider connects to the resident using iDocsWeb. Working together with the nurse, the resident is examined. The removable camera along with digital medical devices assist in effective assessment.

3. The Provider Orders Treatment Plan

The provider is able to diagnose the resident with a UTI. A plan is established and the nurse administers treatment at bedside eliminating the need for hospitalization. Approved family members may also be present to ease the resident.
